HOW IT ALL
BEGAN
The origin story of the largest German LGBTQIA+ movement in Tyria.
In 2018, we began looking for an [LGBT] guild that would share our values and interests. The world of online communities was vast and diverse, yet it was not easy to find a group that not only celebrated the colorful diversity of the community, but also represented a clear political stance that suited us.
Because being queer is also political – it requires actively standing up for equality, inclusion, and tolerance. To realize exactly this vision of a shared home without compromises, we finally decided to found our own guild: the Regenbogen Biergarten (Rainbow Beer Garden).

We wanted to create a place where all aspects of the [LGBT] community are united in a harmonious and respectful coexistence.
The "Rainbow" in this name stands for the colorful diversity of our members, who represent the most diverse backgrounds, interests, and perspectives. "Beer Garden" embodies the sociable, relaxed, and open atmosphere that we want to experience in the game.
At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for the world in which our guild exists. As a studio, ArenaNet actively champions topics like diversity and inclusion, creating a true safe space in Guild Wars 2. It is a great feeling to know that the developers stand behind the same values that are so important to us.
In the following months and years, we invested a lot of time and energy to build the Regenbogen Biergarten. We looked for like-minded people who shared our vision, and together we created a space where every voice counts and everyone is welcome.
We organize regular meetings, events, and discussions that serve both to celebrate our community and to foster open, respectful exchange. The result is a lively, dynamic guild that puts the needs of the [LGBT] community front and center.
The founding of the Regenbogen Biergarten was the beginning of a community that lives its values and in which each and every individual can find a safe place. Today, we look proudly at what we have achieved: a place of joy and cohesion, but also a symbol of the strength that comes from unity.
